Hollyhock's in my yard

Hello! Welcome, here is my sample for challenge #16 at Speedy's the Cat Friends Challenge. Joanne G. has challenged us to "Think Flowers" I love flowers and wish I had one of those beautiful flowers gardens like I see in the magazines, but I don't have a green thumb at all!!! The flowers in my yard have to be strong to survive.LOL The Hollyhocks in my yard are one of those. Every year they reappear like magic! The bees and the hummingbirds do their part! If you click on the flower and look, you can see the bee in the upper flower has pollen all over it. So when I saw this gorgeous stamp set with the Hollyhock I knew I would have to have it.

The stamp set I used is from Mark's Finest Papers
" Pears and Hollyhock" I used Copic's to color my images. Card stock and DP are from MFP and the punch is M.S.
Speedy the Cat Friends has a random weekly winner a FREE Mark's Finest Papers stamp set as a prize! This is a real easy challenge and you can enter more than once. Also on Monday August the 16th Vicki has a new exciting contest you might be interested in. Hope to see you there!

Here's my cards featuring " Flourished Sea Creatures" by Mark's Finest Papers.
This first card I used vellum , using a large scallop nestabilities to make the waves. I stamped the foliage in green on some Basic Grey. I added a flourish stamp from "Flourishes and Frames" by MFP to the background. Card stock is MFP and the image is colored with copic's.

I'm calling this a two for one stamp! Yes, the seahorse is altered a bit, I dropped my ink pad on it after I had my image all done and instead of doing it all over I just trimmed away that part and decided it looked pretty good ! This gorgeous set, has wonderful sea creatures and the sentiments are just perfect!!
I sponged the background in , colored my images with copic's. The card stock is MFP. and I used a white gel pen for highlighting the bubbles and I used a corner rounder.

Paper Rose

Hi, I had a lot of you wanting to know how to make the paper rose I used in my last post. So here is my version of it. I don't remember where I found the instructions for this, I think in a craft magazine. But I couldn't find it, so here is my attempt of instructions.

The supplies you will need:
3 different sized flower punch
card stock
Water mister
Hole punch
Brad
Punch out 4 of each size

Stack each group on top of each other and punch hole in the center.

Turn layers to stagger them.

Mist the flower to soften the paper. Pull up each layer kinda of scrunching toward the center.

Continue this way until all layers are scrunched up. Here is the finished rose plus another color to show you what that would look like.
The card stock I used is Cranberry tart and sweet corn by Gina K. Designs. The leaves are from Melanie Muenchinger set " A year of Leaves by Gina K Designs.

If you have any further questions just ask and I would love to see what you come up with.
Thanks for stopping by.

Melanie Muenchinger's illustrator Hop

Hello! I was delighted when Melanie ask me if I would showcase one of her sets. I was her GD for " A Year of Leaves" and that is what I decide to showcase here today. I love this ! It is great staple to have on hand. It is so perfect to use with flowers that I keep some made up just to have on hand. Like the ones I have scattered at the bottom of the card. I used Copic's to color them using G07 and G14. The rose was made out of Cranberry tart PLCS by GKD and a punch. Let me know if you would like more info on making the flower, it's real easy. I curled the leaves gently around a pencil part way to give them more of a 3-D look..

My all time favorite set of Melanies is " A Year of Flowers" and I just could not resist doing a card using that set. I colored the rose with copics. The CS is Gina K. Designs and Basic Grey for the DP. I made the rose smaller by copying and reducing the image using my printer.

Tonight Melanie
Muenchinger
has several designing friends sharing samples they
created using some of their favorite sets from Melanie, take a look!
